I fully agree if You refers to the population of Second Life but only partially agree if you refers to the individual. Reason being, the way the individual turns out in SL is a result not just of decisions made by the primary but also others. The appearance I have cultivated depends heavily on the artistic skills of SL’s designers from those who make hair to those who sculpt body shapes to those who design poses. The groups I joined and the opinions they expose me too were set up by others. I am a Thinkers Prefect thanks to Jinny Fonzaerlli forming the group and Gwyneth Llewelyn inviting me to join it. There is so much to what makes me ‘me’ that came not from my primary’s imagination alone but as a result of that mind interacting with the rich social networks SL supports. I am ‘You’ not just my primary.
